Bought two for granddaughters. Instructions are vague, so read carefully before attempting to assemble. Takes two people. We ended up putting Liquid Nails to make more secure, and had to do touch up paint. One bed came with a gouge on the top of the closet. Cute when done, but wouldn't buy again.Biggest problem is that one end of each bedrail is pre-drilled too large diameter for screws provided...they slide in and out and do not hold. I tried longer screw same diameter and rail split. Will now need to buy small diameter 3in. long drill bit..pre-drill for extra length...and hopefully repair split.Extra work that should not be needed and could have been avoided if right size drill bit had been used!I bought this for my 2 year old granddaughter for Xmas. She was thrilled and plays daily with it and her babies. Usually these types of things are cheaply made so easy pleasantly surprised to see the quality and beautiful end product. Very impressed and will be buying the crib and high chair next for her birthday. So pleased with this purchase!It is just what my daughter needed to compliment the American Girl doll Santa brought her. Good thing we decided to put it together before Christmas Eve!! One of the end pieces of the bunk bed was split at a seam and had to be wood-glued back together. Once the glue had dried we put it together and it is just fine. It is a little fragile to move the piece as it is bulky but it is very cute. My daughter loves the cute pink wooden hangers that came with it too. The ladder just lays up against the bunk bed so it can be moved to either side and placed on either end. The fabric isn't the highest quality but my 8 year old has no complaints.The problem is that they ship it to you in the box from the company without putting it in a cushioned box. It comes like it states in the item's box with the picture and title on the outside of the box (glad I got it from the porch and my daughter didn't see it!). If they would ship it in a cushined box maybe that would cut down on the amount of reviews that report broken pieces.For the money, even with a broken piece, I am glad I bought it!!Assembly is not very hard, but there are no written words;just pictures so there were a couple of pieces of the closet that I had to take a moment to decide which way should be up.Closet is only 6 and 3/8 inches deep so some of the doll outfits stick out a bit, but the cloth curtain front allows for that.Based on other reviews I was expecting the bedding to be a little thicker, so I rolled up some of the soft packaging to make the pillows a little more pronounced. I will likely break out the sewing machine to make pillows and blankets. Still to me, it is amazing it comes with anything.Latter doesn't actually attach to bed which is both good and bad.. you can put it anywhere or remove it, but it also slides on slick surfaces. I hope to come up with a hook like some real bunk bed laters use.Overall I think it is really cute and a great value. This was a gift for my daughter's 7th birthday and she thought it was absolutely awesome which I think is what really matters.I will definitely order more Badger Basket furniture in the future.The headboard was missing a peg and to hide this, it was poorly glued. The glue did not hold in transit and so the headboard chipped and cannot be fixed. I overlooked some of the negative comments and now my 9 year old is hysterical. DO NOT BUY!!!!!FYI: Despite that THEY SENT IT BROKEN, THEY DON'T COVER RETURN SHIPPING.UPDATE: After requesting a refund (and probably seeing my comment), the organization sent me another bed and did not require me to return the broken one. The new bed was missing one of the two holes to connect the closet to the bed. It was still pretty sturdy with one screw. The instructions aren't very helpful but it took less than an hour to build so it was not big deal. My sister is very happy that her doll now has a proper bed and closet.This product first arrive broken, so I returned it and they sent me a new one. I received it today and put it together tonight (as it was a Christmas present to my daughter) Missing 5x22m O x 2 - screws for the bed headboard to attach to the closet, so had to use longer ones which went into the closet. One rail was missing the plastic inserts, so the bunk beds are unstable. My daughter couldn’t wait any longer but it won’t last long.I searched the web and in stores for the best price for doll bunk beds. I came across this set and for the most part, it is a cute set! This set does need to be assembled, which I was expecting. It took approximately 20 - 30 minutes. The directions were just ok, only pictures to follow. However, the problem that I had was that the screws that were supplied were not the correct size. They needed to be bigger, the screws did not grab the wood and wouldn't stay secure. So I had to search through my husband's screws in the garage and thankfully was able to find the sizes that I needed. It was a bit frustrating and disappointing to say the least. But once the bed was finally put together, it looks ok.
